Portland Secrets

Originally developed by Roy Janik in Austin, and produced for years at the now-closed Brody Theater; Portland Secrets finds a new home at the Funhouse Lounge!

Join us in an improvised foray into the undisclosed parts of ourselves & experiences using REAL SECRETS, anonymously submitted by Portlanders (and beyond!). Drawing from cultural phenomena such as RadioLab, and Mortified; Portland Secrets delves into the joy, shame, dreams, and regret that lie hidden beneath our collective surface. The ways in which secrets are brought to life are often both hilarious and moving, and vividly illustrate the struggle to keep hidden that which we can’t or won’t reveal. Our performers even take turns in a Truth Chair, where they must truthfully answer questions from the audience. In the spirit of “you show us yours, we’ll show you ours,” their answers then become more fodder for short bits of improvised comedy.
