Crave Theatre Company presents
Ashland
Apr 5 - 27 2024 · CoHo Theatre
"Ashland" follows the journey of a young woman faced with a terminal illness who chooses to pursue Death with Dignity. As her health deteriorates, she and her new partner navigate the complexities of their budding relationship faced by the looming specter of death. Meanwhile, her two siblings and partner grapple with the absurdity and hilarity of death, the meaning of family, and the challenge of letting go.
Ashland invites audiences to explore themes of love, loss, and the intricate bonds that define us as individuals by confronting their own beliefs about mortality, love, and the enduring power of human connection.
"We are thrilled to bring Isabel Estelle's compelling and thought-provoking work to the Portland stage," says Director Jennifer Lanier. "Through 'Ashland,' audiences will embark on a journey that celebrates life's beauty amidst its inevitable impermanence. Also, it’s going to make you laugh. Seriously."
